Rizhao vocational and Technical College Polytechnic is a full-time public higher vocational school established by Rizhao Municipal People's government and approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It has been selected as a National Model Higher Vocational College, one of the first batch of modern apprenticeship pilot units in China, a training project for skilled talents in construction industry, and the first batch of construction projects for high-quality higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province The second batch of innovation and entrepreneurship education reform demonstration universities in China will be built.The predecessor of Rizhao vocational and technical college is Rizhao third vocational high school founded in 1987; in 1993, it was upgraded to Rizhao Economic School, an ordinary secondary vocational school; in April 1998, it was approved by the Ministry of education to become the first higher vocational college in Shandong Province, named Rizhao vocational and Technical College.As of May 2016, Rizhao Polytechnic has two campuses, the main campus and the south campus, covering an area of 1352 mu, with a construction area of 426000 square meters; it has nine secondary colleges, with 52 Higher Vocational Specialties; there are 15389 students, 903 staff, including 580 full-time teachers; the total value of teaching equipment is 166 million yuan, and the total value of fixed assets is 676 million yuan. In December, 2019, the school was listed in the second category by the Ministry of finance.
